Our Top 4 Favorite Christmas Craft Ideas for 2022

It’s hard to believe that Christmas is only a few short weeks away (gasp!) and coming up even sooner is the holiday break—where children of all ages enjoy a brief respite from school while anticipating the arrival of Old St. Nick.

Unfortunately, children sometimes develop a severe case of the “boredom blues”, usually right around the time that mom and dad are getting into serious holiday prep mode. But we at Craftikit know nothing busts through the boredom blues like a good crafting session, so we thought we’d share our top 4 favorite craft ideas that will keep kids busy while the grownups tackle holiday baking, gift wrapping, and all the other chores that go along with the season.

Let’s dive in!

Snowman Paper Bag Puppet

This sweet snowman craft lets your child create a Frosty friend of their very own. All you need to provide is a white paper bag, a pair of scissors, and a glue stick. The instructions include a free downloadable template with all the snowman pieces…simply print it out and let your junior crafter get to work!

If you’re giving this craft to younger crafters who haven’t quite mastered using scissors, you can always cut the pieces out for them and let them get in on the gluing action. And how cute would it be to make these right before watching Frosty the Snowman?

Popsicle Stick Snowflake Ornaments

This fun craft is perfect for children of all ages. All you need is a few popsicle sticks from your local craft store, glue, and fun toppings like pom poms, plastic beads, glitter, and anything else you have on hand!

Easy-to-follow instructions allow kids to create snowflake ornaments that can hang from the tree or in their room (and we love the use of non-traditional shades…who says a snowflake can’t be red…or green…or any other color kids love?).

Christmas Advent Countdown Calendar

This cute craft is perfect for little ones who are just developing their love of crafting. Simply print out the free, downloadable calendar and allow your little one to glue a cotton ball on Santa’s beard for each day leading up to Christmas. The result is a full-bearded Santa on Christmas day! Parents love that this easy craft gives little ones a better understanding of just how long they must wait for the big day.

Craftikit

And last (but certainly not least!), we would be remiss if we didn’t include our very own Craftikit on this list.

Friends, this is the kit to end all kits as it is packed with no less than TWENTY fun and unique craft projects. Everything your child needs is included in the box, and all projects are conveniently organized in their own envelopes.

Simply let your child open the box, select a project…and let the crafting magic begin! Whether they want to complete two…or ten…or twenty…your child will be entertained for hours, allowing you to take care of all your holiday business.

There is nothing like a good craft project to keep kids occupied as mom and dad prepare for the holiday season. And there’s no better way to decorate your home for the holidays than with crafts made by the littles you love most!

Happy holiday crafting from your friends at Craftikit!
